Political leaders in US Debate Fruitlessly When Lives are at Stake

It was a fools argument couple of days back on CNN put forward by New York Governor that, - I need help in preference to others, but will not undertake stricter measures to insulate the city to prevent the virus spread. Another law professor later was arguing the legal position against shutting down the city. All arguments well and good for peacetime. It is not peacetime today. We are at war with a Chinese unleashed virus. Quite a few democratic principles in place have to be set aside temporarily to save lives. That simply is not happening. The New York Governor is still arguing, he is not shutting down the city of New York but searching for Chinese made ventilators. The ventilators in question have proven defective elsewhere, hence, so why bother using them. The line against that if the hardware works half the time or quarter the time, it probably saved some lives. Hence Chinese have won the commercial battle to save lives. These are not on-site but will arrive in a couple of weeks.

Hell no!

What is the alternative against it? .... Well, isolate the city until properly made ventilator by the local company are available. 

We have to put lives above the livelihood, not the other way round. Thus far, for the sake of people’s lives within the city and outside, shut down the city. 

I live in Canada, visiting India for a short visit has been watching all politicking going on TV. It is unfortunate.
