NATO weaponry in Ukrainian hands
Are the Ukrainians likely to win a battle to recapture the territory the Russians have taken? Probably not... ... after the siege and surrender in Mariupol, there's nothing right to report. Even the twin cities of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk in the eastern Luhansk region are about to fall. That $35 billion promised in military aid has not made a bit of a difference. Moreover, the vocal anti-Russian propaganda of the Western media, including financial sanctions, has not stopped the Russian invasion.
It would appear that a huge number of Western brand new arms are being sent to Ukraine. It is to help the beleaguered Ukrainian troops. Some of these have just left the shop and have not been tested on the battlefield. Hence, for the western arms merchants, it is their best opportunity to test them under battlefield conditions. The artillery guns from US (M777), Sweden (Archer), Caesar (French), PzH-2000 (German) have been sent. Learning to use in the middle of the battlefield is the key. Some have arrived and are being utilized. A lot of them need to learn how to be used. The same applies to antitank missiles. In addition to the American, British and French antitank missiles, the American M-142, High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) were offered. It will take 8-12 weeks to set them up and train them on how to use them. Also, the US President Joe Biden doesn’t want to arm the Ukrainians with weapons that can hit deep inside Russia and might indirectly escalate the war and draw the US into the war. That danger is being avoided.
The key to all these arms shipments that the Ukrainians do not need is training to use multiple weapons and reload ammunition. Both these could make or break the battle order. Ukrainian President Zelensky does not mince words when he requests weapons, but he is not a practical man and he does not understand at all the training and ammunition aspect of providing weapons. Hence all battles after the initial bravado, are lost. This deficiency cannot be redressed until NATO enters the battle and starts the WW3. The conclusion is that Zelensky has to negotiate a settlement or give up the job to someone who will spearhead negotiations.
The only people ahead will be the arms merchants who are testing their arms under battle conditions for marketing later. The sufferers are the Ukrainians who are in the middle of the war.
