Chinese troubles at LAC which they Indirectly are Admitting for speedy Disengagement

Chinese Army in the Himalayan Cold Temperatures.

The onset of winter brought in cold 0f -40 degrees Celsius which scared the Chinese and they rushed proposal to disengage at LAC. The Chinese troops who came for a so called ‘exercise’ in April and stayed along to march across the LAC for a tiny bit of glory but met an iron fist. Their Galwan River valley clash left scores dead on their side including 20 dead on Indian side. That taste of blood was not palatable to the Chinese High Command. They felt their prestige has been compromised with the losses. They moved troops on useless Pangong Lake, about 7-9 kilometres and tiny move to prevent Indian troops from patrolling in Hot Springs and very strategic area closer to Korrakaram. Chinese felt that they have outflanked the Indian positions and were very happy.

On the night of August 29/30, a major Indian operation grabbed many strategic heights in Chusul sector on Kailash Range. It surprised the hell out of the Chinese and they rushed their newest little tanks to the area but were confronted by heavies of the Indian Army. Chinese quickly beat a hasty retreat. .........

Now the meetings of the commanders which from Chinese point of view were a low key affair, suddenly acquired importance. With Indian troops on heights with  Chinese troops in plain sights was a bad position. Moreover with the arriving winter and -40 degrees, Chinese General Staff was very nervous. They rushed proposals after proposals to disengage. Indian troops if not comfortable but were in an alright position to stay in the cold. They had learnt about the cold in Siachen Glacier. Those 1 to 6 Commander’s meet over the summer time was waste of time but 7 & 8 with the onset of winter became very important. Chinese proposals to disengage were being discussed. The only reason Chinese were there, was mainly India capturing strategic heights and threatening their supply line and onset of winter.  The mellowed Chinese were making workable proposals and Indians were listening. That overconfident Chinese were not confident anymore due to the foregoing reasons. A breakthrough is expected soon.
